MLK Day of Community Action 2024

mlk day of community action 2024

“A Single Garment of Destiny:” A Day of Community Action

The MLK Day of Community Action will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. Never again can we afford to live with the narrow, provincial ‘outside agitator’ idea." -- Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” 1963

Join the Interfaith Ambassador Team of the University Chaplaincy for the 2024 MLK Day of Community Action for community building, workshops on MLK’s legacy in modern activism, and direct action.

Together, we will explore our own roles in the fight for change through engagement of two learning and service tracks related to educational access and voting rights.

For questions, please contact University Chaplain Elyse Nelson Winger.
