Many Voices: A Community Display of Hope, Grief, and Action

Contribute to Tufts’ Community Display of Grief, Hope, and Action

The exhibition will be featured on the Tufts’ Academic Quad between Goddard Chapel and Ballou Hall from Friday, April 16 to Wednesday, May 5, 2021.

This spring, students, staff, faculty, and alumni have created a collective vision of the future by designing individual squares about grief, hope, and action.

Celebrate the Opening of “Many Voices: A Community Display of Grief, Hope, and Action”
Wednesday, April 21, Academic Quad outside Goddard Chapel, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. ET

On Wednesday, April 21, celebrate the opening of the “Many Voices: A Community Display of Grief, Hope, and Action” with the Tufts University Chaplaincy. Stop by the Academic Quad outside Goddard Chapel for a locally sourced, individually packaged sweet treat and take a walk through our communally constructed art exhibition. This exhibit will be open for our community to visit from Friday, April 16 to Wednesday, May 5 on the Academic Quad between Goddard Chapel and Ballou Hall. Please see this website for updates on the exhibition as it is installed and the images of submissions from the Tufts community, near and far.

Many Voices

Marking the one-year anniversary of our campus’ closure, this public art project will be visual and experiential. We invite you to decorate a paper square with reflections, quotes, drawings, and images of any kind that speak to one of these themes. We hope this project will be a testament to the ways that, even apart, we can create something beautiful together.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Shelby.Carpenter@tufts.edu. This project is sponsored by the University Chaplaincy and Tufts Hillel.

Maker Stations

Around campus, we had set up stations for our on-campus community to access instructions and materials. Maker stations were available until April 5 to get the materials you need to add your voice to this collection. Drop-off boxes for submissions can also be found at these stations, as well as at the Campus Center Information booth.  All participation with in-person or virtually submitted materials was appreciated and welcome. The submission deadline was April 5, 2021.
