Please RSVP (celene.ibrahim_lizzio@tufts.edu).

Rania has been published in TIME, the New Yorker, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, The Guardian, the Los Angeles Times, and a host of other outlets and have appeared on BBC, CBC, CBS, PBS, Al-Jazeera and others. Her work is accessible here:  http://www.raniaabouzeid.com/Rania_Abouzeid/Main_Page.html

Rania is a courageous person, may she be blessed and protected, and has been going back and forth to Syria reporting since the conflict emerged from non-violent demonstrations. She has some amazing stories and insights on the ground from Iraq and other countries in the region. We can ask about some of her experiences in journalism on the ground in war zones in the Middle East and North Africa, and then explore with her the rippling impact of the crisis situations, including the rise of the “Islamic State”.

Please RSVP (celene.ibrahim_lizzio@tufts.edu) so that we have a good sense of the space set-up and light lunch refreshments. Rania will not prepare a talk to allow for a more conversational feel, so attendees should come with questions and curiosities.
