Singers and instrumentalists are welcome to join, especially trumpets and percussion. Rehearsals before Mass, 2nd Sunday of each month, 4:00 PM
Instrumentalists
Do you have a polished piece, 3-5 minutes, ready to share? Instrumentalists and singers are invited to offer a solo or chamber piece at one of our weekly Protestant (PEW) services. Accompaniment available.
Meet the Organ
Goddard Chapel is home to a beautiful Hook & Hastings tracker organ, original to the building. Take a tour of the organ in our annual "Meet the Organ" sessions. The organ is available to students who are interested in studying and practicing this magnificent instrument. Please contact Music Director Suzie Cartreine for more information.
Advent Antiphonal
Each December, a group of singers rehearses and presents selections from MS 27, a 14th c. choir book from Northern Italy now housed in Tisch Special Collections. All are welcome to experience first-hand this exquisite manuscript and tradition of chanting.
Choral Scholars
Voices for Peace and Light is an unauditioned choir open to all members of the Tufts community. Four Choral Scholars, one for each voice part (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass), serve as section leaders in the choir. The Choral Scholar is a paid position, secured by audition. All Tufts undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to audition.
Piano Scholars
The Piano Scholars are coached in the art of service playing by the University Chaplaincy Music Director. Following a period of instruction and observation, the Piano Scholars gradually take over responsibilities playing for the Protestant Evening Worship services (Sunday evenings, 7 PM.) The Piano Scholar is a paid position, secured by audition. All Tufts undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to audition. It is possible to share the position between two students.
Email Suzie Cartreine, the University Chaplaincy Music Director with any questions about the above opportunities.
