University Chaplaincy Musical Events and Concerts

Since 2014, Tufts University Chaplaincy hosts Halloween (All Saints Eve) with a late-night recital of haunting music, played by the Music Director and Organist on the 1883 Hook & Hastings' organ at Goddard Chapel.

Every first Wednesday of December, University Chaplaincy invites all to join in this holiday tradition featuring performances from across the Tufts community — featuring singing by the Tufts Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Jamie Kirsch, organ, piano, and singing performances by the University Chaplaincy Music Director  and student and staff performances. See Goddard Chapel decorated for Christmas by our student communities at a concert that will lift your spirits for the holiday season. We will close with a carol sing-along and festive reception.

Baccalaureate is a cherished moment during Commencement Weekend, and the last time for the senior class to be alone together as a class. One senior is selected to give the class speech, called the Wendell Phillips Address, and the president offers his parting words to the class.

The context is a multifaith and multicultural celebration honoring a diversity of spiritualities, philosophies, and cultures at Tufts in the form of music, readings, and benedictions. All are welcome, and generally all members of the senior class and their families attend.
