Panel: New Directions in End of Life Care
Tuesday, April, 25th, 2017 Past Programs 2016-2017
On Thursday, April 27, 2017, the Tufts Humanist Chaplaincy hosted a program exploring the work of several professional chaplains and spiritual care providers in end of life care in an increasingly nonreligious America.
Featured were Jason Callahan of VCU Medical Center, Cheryl McDevitt of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Andrew Tripp of Chelsea Jewish Life. The conversation traced through the roles that chaplains play and their changing identity in healthcare and in America as our understandings of religion change, as well as the different relationships they have with patients and medical staff in different settings. Have a look at the video recording to watch the conversation and Q&A in full, and feel free to reach out to Humanist in Residence Walker Bristol at walker.bristol@tufts.edu with any questions or comments.
