About Tufts Hillel

Tufts Hillel is the center for Jewish life on campus. We provide a supportive and nurturing environment for Jewish students to grow religiously, socially and ethically and, in community with other Jews, with respect for other faiths and a broad understanding of what it means to be Jewish. Led by Neubauer Executive Director, Rabbi Naftali Brawer, our  staff housed in the Granoff Family Hillel Center, is here to encourage students of all backgrounds to engage with Judaism and the Jewish community on their own terms. Hillel has unlimited ways for students can explore and participate. Students can celebrate Shabbat and holidays, socialize at a Bagel Brunch or semi-formal, go to a Shir Appeal concert, study, attend speakers and programs to learn more about our historic connections to Israel, go on a free Birthright Israel trip or just have coffee with one of the rabbis, or with a peer who’s specially trained to help students along their Jewish journeys.

Students can travel the world with one of our service/learning alternative break trips, connect with one or more of our campus-wide initiatives such as Read by the River (our children’s literacy program), Vitality-Health and Wellness or the Cummings/Hillel Program on Holocaust and Genocide Education or participate in community service projects – just to name a few. If you’re looking for a leadership opportunities, we have over 100 elected positions available. Students can run for one 35+ roles on the Student Programming Board or join one of the many committees that organize special projects and initiatives.  And if someone wants something new to happen, we’ll work to make it a reality.
