In Conversation with Rania Abouzeid

Rania Abouzeid, a prominent independent journalist based in Beirut, is coming to Tufts to share her insights on vocation, telling human stories in times of war, the current situation in Syria, the refugee crisis, and other regional affairs on Wednesday, September 24 at Noon upstairs in the IFC. Rania is a courageous person, may she be blessed and protected, and has been going back and forth to Syria reporting since the conflict emerged from non-violent demonstrations. She has some amazing stories and insights on the ground from Iraq and other countries in the region. We can ask about some of her experiences in journalism on the ground in war zones in the Middle East and North Africa, and then explore with her the rippling impact of the crisis situations, including the rise of the “Islamic State”.
