Protestant Life at Tufts supports welcoming, thoughtful, and inclusive Christian communities on our campuses that celebrate the beautiful diversity of the Body of Christ. Rooted in an open and ecumenical spirit, our student organizations, programs, and events provide opportunities to gather for worship, study, fellowship, and service. We don't expect you to leave your questions or your true self at the door. No matter your background, denomination, or where you find yourself on your spiritual journey, you’ll find a warm and supportive community eager to love God and our neighbors, sharing the “Peace and Light” of Christ.
About the Communities
At Tufts, you will find a variety of Protestant Christian student communities for undergraduates and graduate students. On campus, gatherings include weekly worship services, Bible studies, special events like Christmas and Easter dinner celebrations, and much more.
For faculty and staff, we offer a weekly Scripture reflection and prayer group via Zoom called “The Breakfast Club.” Please contact Chaplain Dan Bell to learn more.
Community Leadership
The Reverend Daniel Bell, M.Div.
The Reverend Daniel Bell is the Associate University Chaplain and Director of Protestant Life at Tufts, where he has joyfully served since August of 2016. As a member of the Office of Religious and Philosophical Life (RPL) team, Dan is dedicated to enriching the spiritual and ethical lives of all those affiliated with Tufts, with a focus on the Protestant community. He advises all undergraduate Protestant student organizations and facilitates an Inter-Christian Council for student leaders. He also supports Tufts’ graduate student Christian organizations. Dan works with students to coordinate worship services, spiritual formation activities, service projects, seasonal observances and holiday celebrations, and interfaith initiatives. He also provides spiritual care to all Tufts community members who request support. Dan is a RPL liaison to the Fletcher School, Health Sciences Campus, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, and the LGBT Center. Protestant Evening Worship
Whoever you are, however you come, there is always room for you in the PEW. Join the Protestant student community at Tufts for worship through prayer, singing, preaching, and reflection, led by the Rev. Daniel Bell, Associate University Chaplain and Director of Protestant Life. Once a month we invite guest preachers from different denominations and we celebrate Holy Communion, which all are welcome to receive. After each service, we invite you to stay for refreshments and fellowship. It’s always a great time to hang out and connect with fellow students before the start of a new week.

Protestant Chaplaincy Bible Study
All are welcome to weekly Bible study and dinner hosted by the Protestant Students Association and Associate University Chaplain Dan Bell. We also spend time checking in with each other and sharing prayer requests.

Asian Baptist Bible Study
The Asian Baptist Fellowship (ABF) at Tufts is a Christian Bible study and fellowship group committed to nurturing a community where Asian culture and following Jesus can be celebrated together. Through engaging Bible studies, fun games and activities, lots of food, and friendships, we learn more about God, one another, and ourselves. College is a busy place, and sometimes you might need somewhere to come as you are, find a listening ear, be challenged and encouraged, and discuss life's big questions. While we try to approach the Bible through a Baptist lens, we embrace diverse perspectives and ideas, ensuring that everyone who comes is welcomed and comfortable! Whether you’re just curious about the Bible or looking for a spiritual home, come by and join us on Friday at 7 pm in Eaton 225!
