Community Leadership
The Reverend Daniel Bell, M.Div.
The Reverend Daniel Bell was appointed Protestant Chaplain at Tufts University in August of 2016. As a member of the University Chaplaincy team, Dan is dedicated to enriching the spiritual and ethical lives of all those affiliated with Tufts, with a focus on the Protestant community. He works closely with the Tufts Protestant Students Association to develop the ecumenical Protestant community on campus. Dan works with students to coordinate worship services, spiritual formation activities, service and social justice projects, and ecumenical and interfaith initiatives. He also provides pastoral care to students, faculty, and staff. Dan is the University Chaplaincy liaison to the Health Sciences Campus Wellness Office, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, and the LGBT Center.

The Breakfast Club: Faculty/Staff Bible Study and Prayer Group
Wednesdays, 8 a.m. - 8:50 a.m. ET on Zoom (Resumes Wednesday, January 7, 2026)
You are warmly invited to “The Breakfast Club,” a contemplative Bible study group for faculty and staff led by Tufts’ Protestant Chaplain, the Reverend Dan Bell. We gather every Wednesday morning over Zoom to check in, reflect on Scripture, and pray together. All Tufts faculty and staff are welcome to participate, regardless of faith background. Various Christian traditions are represented. Please feel free to have your breakfast as we meet, and step away when you need to. Bible Study
Wednesdays starting January 28, 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Austin Conference Room, Tisch Library, Room 226
All are welcome to join our fall Bible study, hosted by Protestant Chaplain Dan Bell. A pizza dinner is provided. We will be reading and reflecting on the Book of Revelation. Protestant Evening Worship (P.E.W.)
Sundays, resuming January 18, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Goddard Chapel (Service is 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.)
Whoever you are, however you come, there is always room for you in the PEW. Join the Protestant student community at Tufts for worship in prayer, song, preaching, and reflection. Chaplain Dan, a variety of guest preachers from different denominations, and students offer weekly messages to inspire and challenge one’s faith. We celebrate Communion once a month; all are welcome to receive. Twice a semester we gather for “Dinner Church,” enjoying a meal together in a more relaxed worship setting. After each service, we invite you to stay for snacks and community time. It’s always great to hang out and connect with fellow students before the start of a new week. Asian Baptist Fellowship Bible Study

The Asian Baptist Fellowship (ABF) at Tufts is a Christian Bible study and fellowship group committed to nurturing a community where Asian culture and following Jesus can be celebrated together. Through engaging Bible studies, fun games and activities, lots of food, and friendships, we learn more about God, one another, and ourselves. College is a busy place, and sometimes you might need somewhere to come as you are, find a listening ear, be challenged and encouraged, and discuss life's big questions. While we try to approach the Bible through a Baptist lens, we embrace diverse perspectives and ideas, ensuring that everyone who comes is welcomed and comfortable! Daily Flame
Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Campus Center Room 218.
Daily Flame is a student-led Christian ministry at Tufts. Throughout the academic year, Daily Flame hosts daily Bible studies, known as Daily Devotionals, as well as Fellowship Events and Worship Nights, which occur regularly throughout each semester. Daily Devotionals are held Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Campus Center Room 218, while Fellowship Events and Worship Nights take place in various locations across the Tufts campus. Daily Devotionals provide students with a consistent space for scripture reading, reflection, prayer, and spiritual encouragement throughout the week.
