Hi everyone,<\/p>\n

Happy midway through the semester, and happy parents and family weekend! Wanted to write especially because this time of year can be as much exciting as it is overwhelming, so at the Tufts Humanist Chaplaincy we want to offer a couple opportunities to take a breath and to explore some new experiences with your family, if they’re so inclined.<\/p>\n

\"OWDR-Mark-Twain-1884\"<\/a>Like every week, we’ll have our regular small group reflection meeting this coming Friday, October 21st, at 5:30pm in the Interfaith Center<\/strong>. At small group reflections, we facilitate an open, respectful, and confidential conversation around a theme that concerns and informs many of our choices and experiences in our life journey. The conversation begins rooted in a text (or other piece of culture) written from a Humanist perspective that engages the theme, and from there will be open to the perspectives and experiences of everyone present in the group. This week, the reading will be from writer Mark Twain. All are always welcome, and families are encouraged to join! Refreshments will be served. On Sunday, we’ll continue our Humanists Against Homelessness series<\/a> with another \"14446002_1219513234757713_8012921700197282873_n\"<\/a>cleanup of an area nearby that we on the hill share with those living on the street. We’ll be cleaning up Powder House circle, Powder House park, and the Broadway corridor towards Ball Square. All are of course welcome to join us in service as well–we’ll be meeting at 11am on Sunday, October 23rd, in the Mayer Campus Center<\/strong>. The cleanup won’t go past 1pm, and folks can leave anytime they need to. Come help us make the community safer for everyone in Middlesex County!<\/p>\n
