Each year, the University Chaplaincy and the LGBT Center co-sponsor a student art project in recognition of the lives lost to anti-transgender violence as commemorated by Trans Day of Remembrance in November. The project seeks both to offer space for reflection among both trans and cis members of our community on the magnitude of violence the trans community faces and to celebrate the lives of trans and non-binary people affected by violence.

The artist selected this year is Ira Craig, A22, and their exhibit will open in the main lobby area of the SMFA on November 26. The exhibit is expected to move to the Medford/Somerville campus after it displays at 230 The Fenway, details forthcoming. This project is co-sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies. For updates, please visit
