Community Partnerships

Some of our central partnerships include:

  • St Clements Parish (Medford, MA) where our students serve as CCD teachers and mentors
  • The Outdoor Church (Cambridge, MA) where we have worshipped at the Sunday morning Service of Prayer & Communion and assisted with ministry to homeless folks

Outreach Opportunities

The Catholic Community at Tufts works with organizations bringing about peace and justice in our community and in the larger world. You can live out your faith volunteering with Earthen Vessels and the Pine Street Inn.

Earthen Vessels (EV) is a faith-based nonprofit in the Catholic social justice tradition that empowers youth from Boston’s inner city with the skills and confidence needed to realize their potential.  EVcorps volunteers are students recruits from top universities who commit to a multi-year one-on-one tutoring and mentoring relationship with an inner-city child or teen.

Pine Street Inn began as a shelter in 1969 and today it is a hub of programs and services including housing, outreach, shelter and job training. Through the Learn and Serve program, volunteers gain a better understanding of poverty, homelessness and affordable housing. They often help with serving meals or offer their time and gifts in other ways.
